So, some people think of Gargoyal or Dragon. The griffin was a favourite decorative motif in the ancient Middle Eastern and Mediterranean lands.The griffin is a mythical creature. They are considered to be symbolic of power, wealth, courage, and prestige. Sphene, better known to mineralogists as titanite, is a spectacular gemstone prized by collectors for its diamond-like luster and high dispersion. But all I know is I love dragons and I think of it as a dragon, but thats me. And I think of green and yellow and brown with some colors of highlighted by iridescent. Ah, the Sphene!

Be mindful to not store next to other hard jewelry that may scratch.  Keep away from high heat, chemicals, oils, perfume, and cleaners.  Opals for the most part can lose their color if soaked in water. Just use a little bit if necessary. I wash all the pieces I make with a soft tooth brush and Dawn Liquid soap and dry with a clean cloth.
